Results: The technique that demonstrated the greatest statistical significance according to the scientific evidence reported in the literature was the audiovisual distraction, with no difference of age in the patient, besides being the most implemented by dentists and the most accepted by parents and patients. The tell-show-and-do technique proved to be an excellent ally in conjunction with any other, as anxiety and stress decreased. Conclusions: The techniques used in isolation are not as effective for managing the child's behavior, so it is recommended to combine different techniques and achieve the desired result, depending on the age of the patient.
