Abstract

Colombia y más enfáticamente Bucaramanga a lo largo de su historia han vivido varios cambios en sus políticas educativas, adoptando modelos que no se ajustan a las características de su población, evidenciando diferentes problemáticas en la calidad de capital humano, siendo lo anterior una mala implementación del sistema educativo. Por tal razón es importante plantear propuestas que identifiquen y recomienden soluciones que ayuden a mejorar la generación de conocimiento y a su vez mayores posibilidades de ingresos. Con este trabajo se quiere determinar los factores socioeconómicos, institucionales y familiares que incidieron en el desempeño académico de los estudiantes de secundaria en las Pruebas Saber 11 en el Municipio Bucaramanga, Santander. Con el fin de evidenciar que variables impactan directamente sobre el logro académico y que recomendaciones se podrían plantear para aminorar la situación. Para alcanzar el objetivo, se estima por medio del análisis de correspondencias múltiples (ACM) con los datos suministrados por el ICFES, para el año 2012. Se identifican y analizan los determinantes de le educación secundaria en Bucaramanga que condicionan al estudiante en las pruebas Saber 11, y en segundo lugar se proponen estrategias que podrían mejorar los resultados de los estudiantes.

Abstract

Colombia and emphatically Bucaramanga throughout its history have undergone several changes in their educational policies, adopting models that do not fit the characteristics of its population, evidencing different problems in the quality of human capital, being the above a bad implementation of the education system. For this reason, it is important to propose, identify and recommend solutions that help to improve the generation of knowledge and, in turn, greater possibilities of income. This paper aims to determine the socioeconomic, institutional and family factors that influenced the academic performance of high school students in Saber 11 Test in Bucaramanga, Santander. In order to show that variables directly affect academic achievement and what recommendations could be made to reduce the situation. In order to reach the objective, it is estimated by the analysis of multiple correspondences (ACM) with the data provided by the ICFES, for 2012. The determinants of secondary education in Bucaramanga are identified and analyzed that condition the student in the Saber tests 11, and secondly strategies are proposed that could improve student outcomes.
