Abstract
La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo identificar las principales causas de deserción escolar en la Institución Educativa Departamental Campo Alegre del municipio El Rosal, Cundinamarca en el periodo de 2014-2017. Como sustento teórico se tuvieron en cuenta los conceptos de educación, deserción escolar, en contraste con las variables de territorio y familia; en este sentido la metodología utilizada que aborda esta investigación, parte de un enfoque mixto, la cual se divide en tres fases: la primera hace referencia a la caracterización del territorio y de la población, la segunda es un diagnóstico de la problemática y la tercera fase son las propuestas para mitigar la deserción escolar en dicha institución.

The objective of this research was to identify the main causes of school dropout at the Departmental Educational Institution Campo Alegre in the municipality of El Rosal, Cundinamarca, in the 2014-2017 period. As a theoretical support, the concepts of
education, school desertion, in contrast to territorial and family variables were taken into account; In this sense, the methodology used in this research is based on a mixedapproach, which is divided into three phases: the first refers to the characterization of
the territory and the population, the second is a diagnosis of the problem and the third phase are the proposals to mitigate the school dropout in said institution.
