Abstract
Este artículo explora la realidad que existe en las celdas de aislamiento o confinamiento o (U.T.E) Unidades de Tratamiento Especial en Colombia. El campo de interés esta centrado en estas celdas, inicialmente abordando origen, observando algunos de los conceptos más relevantes en un ámbito general, luego de manera especifica y el surgimiento de estas celdas en el mundo. Posteriormente se establece un espacio específico para las mismas pero en el manejo que se le da actualmente en el Establecimiento Penitenciario De Alta y Mediana Seguridad y Carcelario Con Alta Seguridad de Combita (EPAMSCASCO) y en países como Estados Unidos y España. De igual manera se verifica la utilidad que tienen y se revisa la afectación que pueda haber de los derechos de las personas que se encuentran privadas de la libertad y que a su vez están prisioneras dentro de estas celdas especiales.
Abstract
This article explores the reality that exists in the cells of isolation or confinement or (U.T.E) Special Treatment Units in Colombia. The field of interest is centered in these cells, initially addressing origin, observing some of the most relevant concepts in a general field, then in a specific way and the emergence of these cells in the world. Subsequently a specific space is established for them but in the management that is currently given in the High and Medium Security and Prison Establishment With High Security of Combita (EPAMSCASCO) and in countries such as the United States and Spain. In the same way, the usefulness is verified and the affectation that may be of the rights of the people who are deprived of their liberty and who in turn are imprisoned inside these special cells is reviewed.
