Resumen
El término “Whistleblower” es una composición de los términos “blow & whistle” que
traducido al castellano seria soplar y silbato respectivamente. el término proviene de los
Estados Unidos, y sin saber exactamente cuál fue su origen, se sospecha que se acuñó
en los campos de fútbol americano, en donde “un árbitro, que se encuentra dentro del
campo de juego hace sonar el silbato, cuando se comete una falta para que la acción se
detenga”. Otros autores lo relacionan a la caricatura “del policía ingles regordete corriendo
detrás del ladrón y haciendo sonar su silbato, tras el grito agónico de una dama”.
Resumen
The term "Whistleblower" is a composition of the terms "blow & whistle" which translated into English would be blow and whistle respectively. The term comes from the United States, and without knowing exactly what its origin was, it is suspected that it was coined on American football fields, where "a referee, who is inside the field of play blows the whistle when a foul is committed so that the action stops". Other authors relate it to the caricature of "the plump English policeman running after the thief and blowing his whistle after the agonised scream of a lady".
