dc.descriptionDesde el siglo XX la minería legalizada se ha convertido en una actividad importante para el crecimiento económico de Colombia (2,3% del PIB actualmente), sin embargo, los procesos que aplican tanto la minería autorizada como la minería ilegal y artesanal generan impacto ambiental sobre los recursos naturales, afectando principalmente el recurso hídrico y con ello el objetivo de desarrollo sostenible (ODS) de agua limpia y saneamiento, debido a que la corriente de agua al final del proceso minero tiene alto contenido de metales pesados como Mercurio, Cobre, Cobalto, Arsénico, Zinc, Plomo, Cadmio; que también tienen impacto negativo sobre la salud humana. La minería en esencia no es perjudicial; simplemente requiere mayor apoyo en la gestión de procesos y establecer una adecuada normatividad legal. Con este artículo se pretender defender la minería desde un punto ambientalmente responsable, por lo cual se evalúan a fondo los impactos ambientales generados por esta y se plantea la posible reestructuración de los sistemas de tratamiento de agua generada en el proceso minero.spa
dc.description.abstractSince the 20th century, legalized mining has become an important activity for Colombia's economic growth (currently 2.3% of GDP), however, the processes that apply both authorized mining and illegal and artisanal mining generate environmental impact on natural resources, mainly affecting the hydric resource and with it the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) of clean water and sanitation, since the water stream at the end of the mining process has a high content of heavy metals such as Mercury, Copper, Cobalt, Arsenic, Zinc, Lead, Cadmium; which also have a negative impact on human health. Mining in essence is not harmful, it simply requires greater support in managing the processes and establishing adequate legal regulations. This article aims to defend mining from an environmentally responsible point of view, for which the environmental impacts generated by it are thoroughly evaluated and the possible restructuring of the water treatment systems generated in the mining process is considered.spa
