Abstract
En la actualidad, para poder establecer la conexión a Internet, se utiliza el protocolo IPv4, por lo tanto, cada dispositivo que está conectado utiliza una IP de este protocolo, sin embargo, por anuncio de diferentes organizaciones mundiales, el agotamiento de este protocolo es inminente, limitando de esta forma la conexión de nuevos dispositivos a Internet. IPv6 nuevo protocolo planteado para permitir aumentar la cantidad de IPs disponibles para la conexión de nuevos dispositivos y de esta forma permitir el crecimiento de Internet. La interacción de las empresas con este nuevo protocolo es muy importante, para ello se requiere que se tome conciencia de la situación actual y lograr que las empresas agilicen la adopción de este nuevo protocolo con el fin de mitigar el agotamiento del direccionamiento IPv4. Este documento hace una revisión de la necesidad de migración de IPv4 a IPv6 en Colombia con miras a obtener un beneficio social. Además, se proponen mecanismos para promover la migración en el sector privado.
Abstract
At present, to establish the connection to the Internet, the IPv4 protocol is used, therefore each device that is connected uses an IP of this protocol. However, due to the announcement of different world organizations, the exhaustion of this protocol is imminent, thus limiting the connection of new devices to the Internet. IPv6 new protocol proposed to increase the number of IPs available for the connection of new devices and thus allow the growth of the Internet. The interaction of the companies with this new protocol is very important, hence they must become aware of the current situation and get companies to speed up the adoption of this new protocol in order to mitigate the exhaustion of IPv4 addressing. This paper gets necessity of migration from IPv4 to IPv6 review in Colombia with a view to obtain a social benefit. Besides, mechanisms to promote the migration in the private sector are suggested.
