Pugnas Por La Igualdad: Mujer y Ciudadanía En El Siglo XIX

Abstract

Women have been key players in history since time immemorial, leading processes that contribute to the historical and cultural development of the universe. In Colombia, 2 most of these contributions originated from the nineteenth century, so it is an objective to study their social and legal status from this time to the present in order to size the strength of barriers that women had to cross to achieve the conquest of their social and political rights. From this historical portrait a systematic vision of the concept of Citizenship is constructed, under the understanding that the rights and social guarantees converge in the construction of what it means to be a citizen. The historical fundamentals, data and surveys that appear in this publication are part of a research dynamic, which aims to penetrate the concept of citizenship from a gender equity perspective.
