Caracterización, análisis y evaluación de la zonificación de susceptibilidad por inundación en el municipio de Fortul (Arauca)

Abstract

The municipality of Fortul (Arauca), due to its changing geographic location between the eastern flank of the Eastern Cordillera and the Araucan foothills, has certain sedimentological, hydrological, hydraulic and slope characteristics that generate braided and meandering riverbeds throughout the municipality that cause recurrent flooding during the prominent winter seasons. This paper presents the characterization, analysis and evaluation for the zoning of susceptibility to flood hazards in the municipality of Fortul through the analysis of variables such as geology, geomorphology, slope and land use by applying the Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP) of Saaty (1980). The zoning of susceptibility to flood hazards was obtained, determining that the municipality of Fortul has very low, low, medium, high and very high susceptibility to flooding with values of 40.1%, 8%, 4.7%, 19.6% and 27.6%, respectively.
