It synthetically presents a review of current research, at the level of equipment and processes with the goal of obtaining a conceptual design, and applying the Frenc model to the mechanical design methodology. Based on the referenced bibliographical sources, calculations and analyses were performed for machine elements, material selection, modeling and manufacturing processes. Finally the developed apparatus is presented with the results of the trial runs. The project is based on prior research on obtaining MRF from magnetite, and developing a process to benefit from minerals with MRF; framed within a macro project, directed at promoting technological adaptations which allow the exploration and development of alternative techniques and technologies, aimed at optimizing processes and guaranteeing sustainable use of regional and national mineral resources.     Este artículo describe los procedimientos mediante los cuales se diseña y construye un equipo para beneficio de minerales con fluidos magnetorreológicos (FMR). Presenta de forma sintética una revisión del estado del arte, a nivel de equipos y procesos, con el fin de obtener un diseño conceptual y aplicar el modelo de French a la metodología del diseño mecánico. Con base en las fuentes bibliográficas se realizaron los cálculos y análisis para elementos de máquinas, selección de materiales, modelación y procesos de manufactura. Finalmente se presenta el equipo desarrollado y los resultados de las pruebas de operación. El proyecto se basa en investigaciones previas para obtener FMR a partir de magnetita y desarrollar un proceso de beneficio de minerales con FMR, enmarcadas en un proyecto macro direccionado a promover adaptaciones tecnológicas que permitan explorar el desarrollo de técnicas y tecnologías alternativas, tendientes a optimizar los procesos y garantizar un aprovechamiento sostenible de los recursos mineralógicos regionales y del país.
     
    Este artigo descreve os procedimentos mediante os quais é desenhado e construido um equipamento para o beneficio de minerais com fluídos magneto-reológicos (FMR). Sinteticamente apresenta uma revisão do estado da arte, dos equipamentos e processos a fim de obter um desenho conceitual e aplicar o modelo de French à metodología do desenho mecánico. Baseado nas fontes bibliográficas referenciadas foram realizados os cálculos e as análisis para os elementos das máquinas, selecção de materiais, modelagem e processos de fabricação. Finalmente se 49apresenta o equipamento desenvolvido com os resultados das provas de operação. O projeto é baseado nas pesquisas anteriores para obter FMR a partir de magnetita, para desenvolver um processo de beneficio de minerais com FMR; enquadrado dentro de um projeto orientado para promover adaptações tecnológicas que permitem explorar o desenvolvimento de técnicas e tecnologias alternativas, destinadas a otimizar os processos e garantir o uso sustentável dos recursos minerais regionais ou de todo um país.
