Abstract
En la sesión los panelistas hablaron sobre el papel cultural de las bibliotecas y en específico de las bibliotecas universitarias. Al respecto, hablaron sobre qué se entiende por cultura y si es obligatorio para las bibliotecas ocuparse de ello. La bibliotecóloga invitada, Natalia Méndez, dio a conocer su perspectiva sobre el tema respondiendo a la cuestión "¿cuáles son las funciones culturales de la biblioteca?". También, examinó los obstáculos que pueden presentarse en las unidades de información para una adecuada gestión cultural. Al finalizar, los locutores hicieron un recuento de las actividades del CRAI-USTA relacionadas con la gestión cultural.
Abstract
In the session, the panelists talked about the cultural role of libraries and specifically of university libraries. In this regard, they talked about what is understood by culture and whether it is mandatory for libraries to take care of it. Guest librarian Natalia Méndez gave her perspective on the topic by answering the question "what are the cultural functions of the library?". She also examined the obstacles that can arise in information units for proper cultural management. At the end, the speakers gave an account of CRAI-USTA's activities related to cultural management.
