The document you are holding is the result of an investigative process, which consisted of investigating the construction of masculinities, based on the experience of five students attending the gymnasium of the Santo Tomás University (Headquarters), having as axes of analysis of culture, education and the body. Now, the topic treated in this investigation arises from a particular interest in gender theory, so when delving into this field an approach to the masculinities paradigm was found; In accordance with the latter, it is stated that this exploratory experience addressed from a daily field such as the gym, the definitions and representations of masculinity that a group of men contributed, helping to understand the dimensions of said paradigm. In this sense, the interest in masculinities was focused on doing a very general investigation, however, given the inconveniences that this brought, it was decided to take a sociological approach that allowed to trace the influence of culture, education and the body in construction of them, and although this topic was more specific, there was no defined population.
