La investigación se basa en el paradigma interpretativo y utiliza la hermenéutica interpretativa para comprender las percepciones y experiencias de los participantes. El análisis se centra en la identificación de representaciones sociales, utilizando la herramienta conceptual de Paterson y Highs. Los resultados revelan que la comunidad estudiantil tiene una visión positiva de la diversidad sexual, pero también existe discriminación y prejuicio. Los participantes perciben que la escuela es un espacio relativamente seguro para las personas LGBTIQ, pero también señalan que hay margen de mejora. Este estudio contribuye al corpus de trabajos que utilizan la hermenéutica interpretativa para abordar cuestiones de diversidad sexual en entornos educativos. Destaca la importancia de escuchar las voces de los sujetos para informar prácticas más equitativas e inclusivas.This study explores the social representations of the LGBTIQ+ community in the Antonio Nariño Educational Institution of Villavicencio. The research is based on the interpretive paradigm and uses interpretive hermeneutics to understand the perceptions and experiences of participants. The analysis focuses on the identification of social representations, using the conceptual tool of Paterson and Highs. The results reveal that the student community has a positive view of sexual diversity, but there is also discrimination and prejudice. Participants perceive that the school is a relatively safe space for LGBTIQ+ people, but they also point out that there is room for improvement. This study contributes to the corpus of work that uses interpretive hermeneutics to address issues of sexual diversity in educational settings.
