Repositorio Institucional.http://hdl.handle.net/11634/34586Las comunidades indígenas de la Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta enfrentan problemáticas latentes y muy poco visibilizadas, una de ellas es la migración y las consecuencias que la misma conlleva, es decir, surge por problemas que están presentes en la zona por las diferencias con los “hermanos menores” y entre las comunidades, además de la presencia de grupos al margen de la ley por una apropiación territorial para diferentes negocios ilícitos y la explotación de los recursos naturales por parte de empresas mineras. En esta investigación se realizó una búsqueda de fuentes documentales, audiovisuales y orales para entender las causas de esta migración y, se conoció que, en medio de este proceso nómada, surgen consecuencias tanto ambientales como de salud, que también afectan las características culturales y de identidad de estas comunidades nativas. Esta investigación encontró que los originarios de la Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, no solo sufren de desplazamiento forzado, sino que también, en varias oportunidades se trasladan dentro del mismo territorio buscando una mejor condición de vida y para poder fortalecer el vínculo con la “Madre Tierra”, sin embargo, al momento de llegar al territorio, se evidenció que las comunidades, pese a su trabajo incansable, siguen viendo vulnerados sus derechos como comunidades étnicas del país por diferentes entidades estatales que dicen defender el territorio Colombiano, sin conocer realmente el lugar que ocupan los indígenas en este espacio sagrado, ni obtener respuesta alguna por parte del gobierno a sus peticiones para recuperar el territorio ancestral.The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta’s indigenous communities, face latent and non-visible problems. One of them is migration and the consequences that it entails, that is, it arises from problems that are in the area due to the differences between the “younger brothers” and the communities themselves; in addition, the presence of illegal armed groups looking for a territorial appropriation in order to make different illicit businesses and the exploitation of natural resources by mining companies. In this research, a documentary search was done, audiovisual and oral sources were carried out to understand the causes of this migration and, we learnt that, in the middle of this nomadic process, different environmental and health consequences arise, which arcanely affect the cultural and identity characteristics of these native communities. This research found that the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta’s natives, not only suffer from forced displacement, but also, on several occasions they move within the same territory looking for a better living condition and to be able to strengthen the bond with the "Mother Land”.
