Through a conceptual and ethical analysis, it argues that the dichotomy between state security and the security of individuals is unsustainable in the face of contemporary dynamics of violence. The text proposes an integrated approach, grounded in the ethics of care and the notion of citizenship, which recognizes the centrality of human dignity, historical memory, and collective responsibility as pillars of sustainable security. It contends that the denial of the past weakens social cohesion and erodes institutional legitimacy, while acknowledgment, reparation, and civic participation strengthen democratic governance and prevent new violence.Este artículo examina la relación entre seguridad humana, seguridad nacional y deber de memoria en contextos de conflicto y posconflicto. A partir de un análisis conceptual y ético, se argumenta que la dicotomía entre seguridad estatal y seguridad de las personas resulta insostenible frente a las dinámicas contemporáneas de violencia. El texto propone un enfoque integrado, sustentado en la ética del cuidado y la noción de ciudadanía, que reconoce la centralidad de la dignidad humana, la memoria histórica y la responsabilidad colectiva como pilares de una seguridad sostenible.
