dc.description | Las poblaciones objeto de estudio fueron estudiantes de séptimo grado del Colegio Guillermo León Valencia que participaron durante más de 8 semanas. Las observaciones, encuestas y entrevistas fueron los instrumentos utilizados como principal fuente de recolección de datos. El análisis de los datos reveló que la lectura era un proceso muy complejo, por lo que este proyecto buscó comprender los aportes de las técnicas de skimming y scanning en el desarrollo de la comprensión lectora en alumnos de séptimo grado de la Escuela Guillermo León Valencia. Los hallazgos de esta investigación sugirieron la importancia de incorporar técnicas de lectura al programa de inglés para mejorar la comprensión lectora en los estudiantes, además de hacer de la comprensión lectora en una segunda lengua un proceso autónomo. | spa |
dc.description.abstract | The populations under study were seventh-grade students at Guillermo Leon Valencia School which participated for over 8 weeks. The observations, surveys, and interviews were the instruments used as the main source of data collection. Analysis of the data revealed that reading was a very complex process, that’s why this project searched to understand the contributions of skimming and scanning techniques in the development of reading comprehension in seventh-grade students at Guillermo Leon Valencia School. The findings of this research suggested the importance of incorporating reading techniques into the English program to improve reading comprehension in students, furthermore to make reading comprehension in a second language an autonomous process. | spa |
