| dc.description | The purpose of this article is to analyze the disputes that revolved around the sacred image of the Holy Ecce-Homo belonging to the convent of the same name in the province of Tunja since the first years of republican life until the begin- ning of the 21st century. A confrontation of interests between several parties is observed in this predicament: the Dominican community, the government, the school of Boyacá, the parish church of Sutamarchán, the town of Leiva and the parishioners. It was also evident a struggle of forces between the State and the Church, as well as between the secular clergy and the regular clergy. This conflict also reveals a common practice that was the circulation and transfer of images between convents and parish churches, a dynamic that involved the creation of new scenarios of appropriation and devotion, but that also opened the field to crucial jurisdictional disputes. | en |
| dc.description | El propósito de este artículo consiste en analizar las disputas que giraron en torno a la imagen sagrada del Santo Ecce-Homo perteneciente al convento del mismo nombre en la provincia de Tunja desde los primeros años de vida republicana hasta principios del siglo XXI. Se observa en esta problemática una confrontación de intereses entre varias instancias: la comunidad dominicana, el gobierno, el colegio de Boyacá, la iglesia parroquial de Sutamarchán, la villa de Leiva y la feligresía. Fue evidente además una lucha de fuerzas entre el Estado y la Iglesia, así como también entre el clero secular y el clero regular. En este conflicto queda también al descubierto una práctica común que era la circulación y traslado de imágenes entre conventos e iglesias parroquiales, dinámica que implicaba la creación de nuevos escenarios de apropiación y devoción pero que también abrió campo a álgidas disputas jurisdiccionales. | es |
