dc.descriptionThis article aims to offer readers the process of using Manga comics to strengthen the reading comprehension of eighth-grade students of the San Francisco de Asís Archdiocesan Institute; Pamplona, Norte de Santander, Colombia. Isabel Solé's "Reading Strategies" was designated as a framework of intelligibility. The methodology was based on a qualitative approach and a Research-Action method. To collect the information, an interview with teachers was used, which showed a low understanding and little interest from the students in the reading exercise, linked to the inadequate textual presentation of the lectures. The field diary, diagnostic test, and exit criteria methodology were used in this investigation. Applied the literal and inferential reading strategies, several aspects were collected to determine the final structuring of the pedagogical proposal: "Since we do not have wings, we must find another way to fly" that managed to perceive an increase in the level of literal reading and the construction of bases for an inferential reading.en-US
dc.descriptionEl objetivo de este artículo es ofrecer a los lectores los resultados de la investigación centrada en utilizar el manga para fortalecer la comprensión lectora de estudiantes de octavo grado del Instituto Arquidiocesano San Francisco de Asís; Pamplona, Norte de Santander, Colombia. Se designó como marco de inteligibilidad la teoría estrategias de lectura de Isabel Solé. La metodología estuvo apoyada por un enfoque cualitativo y un método de Investigación – Acción. Para recolectar la información se utilizó la entrevista a docentes, que arrojó una baja comprensión y poco interés de los estudiantes al ejercicio lector, ligado a la inadecuada presentación textual. Se utilizó el diario de campo y prueba diagnóstica y de salida. Aplicadas las estrategias de lectura literal e inferencial, se recolectaron aspectos para determinar la estructuración final de la propuesta pedagógica “Ya que no tenemos alas, debemos hallar otra forma de volar” que logró percibir un incremento en el nivel de lectura literal y la construcción de bases para una lectura inferencial.es-ES
