Manejo bucal de pacientes tratados bajo terapia antineoplásica. Revisión sistemática

Abstract

This is a systematic review which is part of a secondary investigation, based on available studies on certain interventions. This research refers to the various side effects produced by existing antineoplastic therapies, in order to respond to specific questions raised; The main characteristic of these side effects is that they produce negative consequences in the patient, decreasing their quality of life, for this reason the active participation and knowledge in the clinical practice of the dentist in the work team in charge of treating those patients is so important. patients under antineoplastic therapy, in addition to implementing the appropriate protocols for the management of each of them. At the University of Santo Tomás there is a guide to the oral management of side effects produced by antineoplastic therapy, which dates back to 2002. For this reason, this research is aimed at updating the information of said guide by reviewing the literature and in this way achieve the identification of adequate protocols for the oral management of these pathologies.
