Aim: The aim of this study is to evaluate the bacterial microfiltration root canals sealed single-rooted teeth with Point ™ system in an in vitro study. Materials and Methods: A total of 30 roots of human single-rooted teeth with only permeable root canal, showing slight curvature and closed apices were selected. They underwent conventional opening round bur. The teeth were prepared with ProTaper Universal® system according to the manufacturer's specifications. Then the teeth were randomly divided into 3 groups. Experimental group (n = 20), positive control group (n = 5), negative control group (n = 5). The samples in the different groups were filled as follows: Experimental group, instrumented and filled with sealing technique CPoint™ single cone. Positive control group, instrumented, which were unsealed. Negative control group, instrumented, sealed with sealing technique Point ™ single cone fully sealed with nail varnish. After 7 days of the sealed; the teeth are brought into a bacterial filtration chamber of Enterococcus faecalis for 48 hours with 100% humidity. Values bacterial microfiltration of Point ™ system were evaluated using scanning electron microscopy at different magnifications (2000X, 3000X, 5000X, 7000X) obtaining a total of 72 images of different root thirds and determined the absence or presence of E. faecalis in the dentin-cement interface and cement-CPoint™. Results: It was found that in the coronal and middle third showed only 1 case of filtration of the microorganism, which corresponds to 5.56% and 6.25% from 100% respectively. This microfiltration could be identified in the four magnifications used for this study (2000x, 3000x, 5000x, 7000x). For apical microfiltration it not identified in any of the samples at different magnifications. Conclusion: Point ™ system generates a hermetic seal along the root canal significantly reducing bacterial microfiltration.spa
