dc.descriptionThe present research constitutes a systematic review of the literature on the evaluation methods of flexible pavements, IRI (International Roughness Index) and PCI (Pavement Condition Index) to determine the levels of serviceability in flexible pavements, during the last 15 years. A thorough search of sources under inclusion and exclusion criteria was used, from which 29 scientific articles indexed in recognized databases were selected. Through an information analysis matrix, we proceeded to work exclusively with twenty on which thematic categories were constructed around which the results of the research are proposed. This process made it possible to identify the main findings, making comparisons between the results and different or similar points of view of authors in order to draw conclusions. Among the main results, it was found that it is necessary to perform pavement surface evaluation methods in order to know the current condition of pavements and not to carry out activities without a technical criterion. Therefore, using methods such as IRI and PCI is of utmost importance to determine the current characteristics of pavements, for decision making regarding maintenance, reconstruction and rehabilitation of roads, achieving an adequate pavement infrastructure management system, investing resources effectively. , pavement condition index, flexible pavement, levels of serviceabilityes-ES
dc.descriptionLa presente investigación constituye una revisión sistemática de la literatura sobre los métodos de evaluación de los pavimentos flexibles, IRI (Índice de Rugosidad Internacional) y PCI (Índice de Condición de Pavimento) para determinar los niveles de serviciabilidad en pavimentos flexibles, durante los últimos 15 años. Se empleó una búsqueda minuciosa de fuentes bajo criterios de inclusión y exclusión, a partir de los cuales se seleccionaron 29 artículos científicos indexados a bases de datos reconocidas. A través de una matriz de análisis de información se procedió a trabajar exclusivamente con veinte sobre las cuales se construyeron categorías temáticas en torno a las cuales se plantean los resultados de la investigación. Este proceso permitió identificar los principales hallazgos, haciendo comparaciones entre los resultados y puntos de vista distintos o semejantes de autores a fin de extraer conclusiones. Entre los principales resultaros se encontró que es necesario realizar métodos de evaluación superficial de pavimentos, para tomar conocimiento del estado actual de los mismos y no ejecutar actividades sin un criterio técnico. Por ello, utilizar métodos como el IRI y PCI resulta de suma importancia para determinar las características actuales de los pavimentos, para la toma de decisiones respecto al mantenimiento, reconstrucción y rehabilitación de las vías, logrando tener un sistema adecuado de gestión de infraestructura de pavimentos, invirtiendo los recursos de forma efectiva.en-US
