dc.descriptionEl proyecto se centra en el análisis del posicionamiento estratégico del municipio de San Gil dentro del contexto regional. Se seleccionaron algunas variables que se juzgaron dentro del análisis preliminar como claves para la comprensión de su asentamiento, como son: la lógica de ocupación del territorio, el potencial urbano y arquitectónico patrimonial, el tema ambiental ligado a la oferta turística especialmente el que tiene que ver con los recursos hídricos, los elementos de soporte económico y productivo y, por último, las políticas y planes estratégicos elaborados desde la administración alrededor del sector turístico. Al tomar como base los anteriores elementos se aborda un diagnóstico de situación y, a partir del mismo, se elabora una propuesta académica sobre las proyecciones y sostenibilidad de San Gil como eje subregional.ABSTRACTThe project concentrates in the analysis of the strategic positioning of the municipality of San Gil within the regional context. Some variables were selected and judged within the preliminary analysis as keys for the understanding of their establishment, eg: the logic of occupation of the territory, the urban and architectonic patrimonial potential, the environmental subject bound to the tourist supply especially the one that has to do with the hydric resources, the elements of economic and productive support and finally, the policies and strategic plans elaborated by the administration around the tourist sector. When taking as its base the previous elements a situation diagnosis is approached and from it, an academic proposal is made on the projections and sustainability of San Gil as subregional axis.es-ES
