dc.descriptionThis article addresses the problem underlying the human-animal relationship and the concept of the family in Colombia, for which, firstly, an approach is made to the treatment of the legal institution of the family in Colombia, secondly, it presents an overview of the legal protection that animals have had in the Colombian legal system and thirdly, the incursion of animals as members of the family will be exposed on the basis of the different judicial pronouncements of the ordinary jurisdiction and the constitutional jurisdiction, whose main basis is the principle of legal pluralism and the fundamental right to the free development of the personality, evidencing the need for recognition of the concept of multispecies family in our State.en-US
dc.descriptionEn el presente artículo se aborda el problema que subyace en la relación humano-animal y el concepto de la familia en Colombia, para lo cual en primer lugar, se realiza un acercamiento al tratamiento de la institución jurídica de la familia en Colombia, en segundo lugar, se presenta un panorama respecto de la protección jurídica que los animales han tenido en el ordenamiento jurídico colombiano y en tercer lugar, se expondrá la incursión de los animales como miembros de la familia a partir de los diferentes pronunciamientos judiciales de la jurisdicción ordinaria y la jurisdicción constitucional, los cuales tienen  como fundamento principal el principio del pluralismo jurídico y el derecho fundamental al libre desarrollo de la personalidad, evidenciando la necesidad del reconocimiento del concepto de familia multiespecie en nuestro Estado.es-ES
