| dc.description | This article shows the development of the third genus (muxe’) in the isthmus of Tehuantepec, a region whose roots date back to pre-Hispanic times and which has recently been established as a region that, nationally and internationally, constitutes a symbol of inclusion, tolerance, and respect for all genders. Despite these advances, the region faces challenges in preserving the third-gender tradition and ensuring equality and non-discrimination for muxes. For this reason, this paper aims at formulating a series of affirmative actions and initiatives that can challenge existing omissions, policies, practices, and programs which have historically been biased and discriminatory and which constitute an obstacle to the improvement of life of all muxes in proper conditions of dignity. | en |
| dc.description | Este artículo muestra el desarrollo del tercer género (muxe’) en la región del Istmo de Tehuantepec cuyas raíces se remontan a épocas prehispánicas; actualmente se ha consagrado como una región que, en los ámbitos nacional e internacional, constituyen un símbolo de inclusión, tolerancia y respeto para todos los géneros. A pesar de estos avances, también se enfrentan allí retos para preservar la tradición del tercer género y garantizar la igualdad y la no discriminación para las muxes. Por esto, este trabajo se propone formular una serie de acciones e iniciativas afirmativas que puedan desafiar las omisiones, las políticas, las prácticas y los programas existentes, que históricamente han sido sesgados y discriminatorios y que conforman un freno para el mejoramiento de la vida en condiciones de dignidad de todas las muxes. | es |
