This work has explored and analyzed the right to religious freedom and freedom of worship in Colombia, highlighting its historical, constitutional, and legal development, as well as its jurisprudential evolution since Law 133 of 1994. The importance of this right as an essential element to guarantee the freedom of conscience and worship of all individuals, without any discrimination, has been emphasized. Furthermore, its protection by International Law and its inclusion as a public policy created by the State, led by the Ministry of the Interior, for the effective protection of human rights, has been underscored. Religious freedom and freedom of worship are widely recognized and protected fundamental rights in Colombia, and their jurisprudential evolution has allowed for the creation of the Public Policy on Religious Freedom in the Municipality of Manizales, in collaboration with the University of Manizales. This collaborative approach seeks to promote religious tolerance and foster interreligious dialogue within the community. The role of education in promoting religious diversity and peaceful coexistence has also been highlighted. Additionally, the international legal framework and human rights treaties supporting religious freedom in Colombia have been examined. Relevant judicial cases and precedents established by the Constitutional Court regarding this right have also been analyzed. In conclusion, the importance of guaranteeing and protecting religious freedom and freedom of worship as fundamental pillars of a democratic and inclusive society is evident.
