dc.descriptionThis paper describes what the 4G networks are and depicts a technologies’ general map of its development. Furthermore it shows two topics that are important in these networks’ development. These topics are vertical handover and IP convergence. The depicted survey by this paper shows the state of the art and the background of these topics that generate a useful mental map due to technologies’ variety that is converging in the 4G scheme.en-US
dc.descriptionEl artículo describe las redes 4G y muestra un mapa general de su desarrollo tecnológico. Adicionalmente se muestran dos temas que son clave en el desarrollo de este tipo de redes. Estos temas son el Handover Vertical y la convergencia hacia IP. La revisión expuesta muestra el estado del arte y los antecedentes de estos temas. Con base en esto se genera un mapa conceptual en el que se considera la variedad de tecnologías que convergen en el esquema 4G.es-ES
