Mother's experience at Homeschooling

Abstract

¨Mother`s experience at homeschooling¨ intends to show some reflections about a pedagogical and maternal experience as a bilingual teacher with my little daughter under the concept of homeschooling. This work narrates how this process arises reflections on teaching and bilingualism. Through narrative inquiry I could collect five written narratives and two multimodal data that helped me to show how I put into practice a bilingual education to my daughter at home, the importance of family and being involved in the cognitive process or our children. The present paper shows the motivations, difficulties, and challenges that I must get through when I decided to homeschool my daughter. But it also shows the results, the achievements obtained, and the experiences lived by my daughter and myself. The data analysis carried out through thematic analysis was useful to identify the data and coding information to finally establish categories and subcategories which show the family as the main and most important category and other subcategories that represent the mother`s multirole, pedagogy and maternal experience and the student outcomes.
