La transmisión de la memoria colectiva, lejos de ser un esencial proceso natural, se configura hoy como un acto político y de resistencia frente al flagelo del olvido, permitiendo reconstruir lazos intergeneracionales y resignificando la herencia cultural. En la sociedad tardomoderna, caracterizada por la singularidad, el presentismo, la mercantilización de la vida y la crisis de sentido, grandes filósofos como Manuel Cruz y Byung-Chul Han profundizan sobre las causas del abandono del pasado reciente y la subjetivación premoderna que implica no solo la institucionalización del olvido, sino, el debilitamiento de la identidad colectiva y los vínculos comunitarios. Este artículo de reflexión se convierte en una invitación a recapacitar sobre la importancia de recuperar la esencia narrativa, la memoria y su transmisión, pero, sobre todo, el “aroma del tiempo” y la “Vita contemplativa” que como propone Han, supone reconstruir un tiempo que perdure, que se abra al ser y a la narratividad, posibilitando así una experiencia auténtica frente a la fugacidad de la contemporaneidad.
The transmission of collective memory, far from being an essential natural process, is configured today as a political act and a form of resistance against the scourge of forgetting, allowing for the reconstruction of intergenerational bonds and the reinterpretation of cultural heritage. In late-modern society, characterized by singularity, presentism, the commodification of life, and a crisis of meaning, great philosophers such as Manuel Cruz and Byung-Chul Han delve into the causes of the abandonment of the recent past and the pre-modern subjectivation that implies not only the institutionalization of forgetting but also the weakening of collective identity and community ties. This reflective article becomes an invitation to reconsider the importance of recovering the narrative essence, memory and its transmission, but above all, the “aroma of time” and the “contemplative life,” which, as Han proposes, involves reconstructing a time that endures, that opens itself to being and to narrative, thus enabling an authentic experience in the face of the fleeting nature of contemporaneity.
