Recomendaciones de atención odontológica en tiempos del Covid-19: Scoping Review

Resumen
Objetivo: Identificar los protocolos de atención odontológica en tiempos del COVID-19, propuestos en la literatura científica.
Método: Para este Scoping Review realizó una pesquisa con los términos de búsqueda (“Dental Infection Control”), (“protocol”) y (“covid-19”), en las bases de datos Springer link, Dentistry & oss, Web of science, Pubmed, Science direct, Scopus y Embase. Los artículos extraídos se revisaron por título y abstract ejecutando un primer curado de la información, posteriormente fueron leídos por completo, y así materializando una segunda depuración. La información obtenida fue consignada en una hoja de Microsoft Excel a fin de consolidar la base de datos.
Resultados: Un total de 31 artículos fueron incluidos, encontrando que el 61,3% de la información fue obtenida de Pubmed. El país con mayor producción científica fue Italia con 6%. El país del primer autor de las publicaciones que predominó fue Irán (16%), seguido de India e Italia (13%) cada uno. La totalidad de los artículos fueron en idioma inglés. El uso de EPP en el tratamiento de los pacientes fue un tema que imperó en gran parte de los artículos. El uso de enjuague bucal como desinfectante de la cavidad oral, la buena higiene de manos previa y posterior al servicio odontológico, el triaje del personal y del paciente al ingreso de la consulta, fueron entre otros, las medidas más reportadas por los autores.
Conclusión: A partir del Scoping Review se encontró que las instituciones han hecho sus propios protocolos de atención, en los cuales se destaca el uso de EPP, el triaje para la priorización de la consulta presencial, el lavado de manos y desinfección de superficies del área clínica.
Abstract
Objective: To identify the dental care protocols in times of COVID-19, proposed in the scientific literature.
Method: This Scoping Review carried out a search with the search terms Dental infection control, protocol and covid-19, in the databases Springer link, Dentistry & oss, Web of science, Pubmed, Science direct, Scopus and Embase. Those articles were reviewed by title and abstract, performing a first curation of the information, after they were completely read, they had second purification. The information obtained was consigned in Microsoft Excel in order to consolidate the database.
Results: 31 articles were included, finding that 61.3% of the information was obtained from Pubmed. The country with the highest scientific production was Italy with 6%. The country of the first author of the publications that predominated was Iran (16%), followed by India and Italy (13%) each. All the articles we finded were in English. The use of PPE in the treatment of patients was a prevailed in most of the articles. The use of mouthwash as a disinfectant of the oral cavity, good hand hygiene before and after dental service, triage of staff and patients before the appoinment, were the measures most reported by the authors.
Conclusion: From the Scoping review it was found that the institutions have made their own care protocols, the use of PPE, triage for the prioritization of face-to-face consultation, hand washing and disinfection of area surfaces clinic were the most importants recommendations from them.
