Currently, the scientific literature indicates an increase in the investigation of erosive dental wear in the population group of young adults, considering different risk factors that may be predisposing to suffer dental pathologies related to this clinical condition. Objective. Determine the scientific publication trends in relation to dental wear in young adults found in different databases between 2009 and 2019. Methods. This bibliometric study evaluated the publication trends on dental wear in young adults in the last 11 years (2009-2019), retrieving pertinent information from search equations carried out in the Pubmed, Scopus and Web of Science databases. Results. Of 145 records retrieved from the databases, duplicates and those that did not present information related to the subject were subsequently eliminated. Finally, 50 records were selected, which upon analysis showed that Scopus presented the highest percentage of valid records with 62%, followed by Web of Science with 22%, and Pubmed with 16%, being the lowest of the total records for the bibliometric analysis. In Europe, England and Poland, they were the countries that contributed the most publications on the topic of interest, with 9 and 5 publications respectively. For its part, the United States was the country with the most publications for North America, and Brazil was notably the leading country in research for Latin America with 7 publications. Although the BEWE diagnostic criterion has not been standardized worldwide, this being the most up-to-date, it presents more than twice the number of records than the other indices, showing an increase in the trend of its use. Conclusion. A considerable increase in publications was observed between 2009 and 2019, indicating an interest on the part of researchers to obtain more detailed information on erosive tooth wear in young adults.spa
