El artículo presenta una reflexión sobre la relevancia de las técnicas experimentales en las Ciencias Económicas. El propósito general es difundir entre el círculo académico esta nueva metodología, para mostrar sus ventajas, alcances y limitaciones y explicar de forma sencilla las nociones básicas subyacentes. En primer lugar, se presentan los supuestos, conceptos y procedimientos para realizar experimentos que permitan entender el comportamiento humano. En segundo lugar, se analizan los hallazgos de Vernon Smith y Daniel Kahneman y se hace énfasis en los trabajos que los hicieron merecedores del premio Nobel en Economía y sus implicaciones en el laboratorio.
The article reflects on the relevance of the experimental techniques in economics. The overall purpose is to spread among the academic circle this new methodology, showing its advantages, scope and limitations, easily explaining the underlying basics. For this, we first present the assumptions, concepts and procedures to perform experiments to understand human behavior. Secondly we analyze the findings of Vernon Smith and Daniel Kahneman, with the emphasis on the work that made them worthy of the Nobel Prize in economics and its implications in the laboratory.
