Uso del láser para desinfección en endodoncia, análisis bibliométrico

| dc.description | El láser se ha introducido en la endodoncia para mejorar los resultados adquiridos con las técnicas tradicionales, principalmente en cirugías apicales y desinfección de conductos. Los láseres en endodoncia se comenzaron a utilizar a finales de los 90, sin embargo, en la actualidad la evidencia científica sobre su utilización ha ido aumentando en los años recientes; lo cual genera una necesidad para el especialista en endodoncia relacionada con la constante actualización del conocimiento en esta área. Objetivo general: Analizar las tendencias de las publicaciones científicas de la desinfección láser en tratamiento de endodoncia durante los años 2019 a 2023. mMetodología: Análisis bibliométrico de la literatura donde se incluyeron 61 artículos científicos sobre desinfección láser en endodoncia encontrados en las bases de Pudmed, Dentistry and oral science source, Science direct, y Google académico publicados entre los años 2019 al 2023. Se midieron las siguientes variables: autor, número de autores, filiación institucional, número de citaciones, número de referencias, país de publicación, año de la publicación, base datos, revista cientifica, tipo de estudio, población, tamaños de muestra, tipo de láser y patología endodontica tratada. Resultados: De los 61 artículos el promedio de autores fue de 5,2. Con respecto a las caracteristicas de los estudios se encontró que el 49.18% de los artículos corresponden a estudios in vitro, la revista de publicación más común es Photodiagnosis and photodynamic therapy con un 18,03%, el país más frecuente fue Irán con un 24.59%, seguido por Brasil con un 22,95%. La institución de afiliación más común fueShahid Beheshti University of Medical Science de Irán con un 14,75%. | dc.description.abstract | Lásers have been introduced in endodontics to improve the results obtained with traditional techniques, mainly in apical surgeries and root canal disinfection. Lásers in endodontics began to be used in the late 90s, however, scientific evidence on their use has been increasing in recent years, which creates a need for endodontic specialists to constantly update their knowledge in this area. Aim: To analyze the trends in scientific publications on láser disinfection in endodontic treatment during the years 2019 to 2023. Methodology: Bibliometric analysis of the literature where 61 scientific articles on láser disinfection in endodontics were included, found in the databases of Pudmed, Dentistry and oral science source, Science direct, and Google scholar published between the years 2019 to 2023. The following variables were measured: author, number of authors, institutional affiliation, number of citations, number of references, country of publication, year of publication, database, scientific journal, type of study, population, sample sizes, type of láser and endodontic pathology treated. Results: Of the 61 articles, the average number of authors was 5.2. Regarding the characteristics of the studies, it was found that 49.18% of the articles correspond to in vitro studies, the most common publication journal is Photodiagnosis and photodynamic therapy with 18.03%, the most frequent country was Iran with 24.59%, followed by Brazil with 22.95%.
