| dc.description | Las bacterias pueden invadir los tejidos periapicales, que generalmente ingresan a través de un conducto radicular. Esto puede inflamar y dañar los tejidos de soporte de los dientes. Objetivo: Conocer información adicional sobre el manejo de lesiones perirradiculares para lograr un resultados optimo después de tratamiento quirúrgico. Método: Se buscaron las palabras clave para todas las publicaciones disponibles, desde el año 2020 y hasta el año 2023, en las bases de datos Google Académico, PubMed y Medline. Se seleccionó la intervención quirúrgica y resultados histopatológicos de lesiones perirradicualres, a partir de estudios clínicos. Se excluyeron estudios en animales y técnicas no quirúrgicas. Resultados: Se identificaron 110 artículos relevantes, se eliminaron los artículos duplicados y se excluyeron los artículos irrelevantes después de la selección (n: 52). A partir de los títulos, resúmenes y artículos completos, se identificaron y seleccionaron 24 estudios para la revisión. Conclusiones: Los exámenes clínicos, radiológicos son una ayuda para reconocer una lesión perirradicular y la necesidad de una intervención quirúrgica o no. Ya después de realizada la intervención quirúrgica, por medio de un examen histopatológico, se reconfirma el tipo de lesión. | spa |
| dc.description.abstract | Bacteria can invade periapical tissues, typically entering through a root canal. This can cause inflammation and damage to the supporting tissues of the teeth. Objective: To acquire additional information on the management of periradicular lesions to achieve optimal outcomes after surgical treatment. Method: Keywords were searched for all available publications from 2020 to 2023 in the databases of Google Scholar, PubMed, and Medline. Surgical intervention and histopathological outcomes of periradicular lesions were selected from clinical studies. Animal studies and non-surgical techniques were excluded. Results: A total of 110 relevant articles were identified, duplicate articles were removed, and irrelevant articles were excluded after the selection (n: 52). From the titles, abstracts and full articles, 24 studies were identified and selected for the review. Conclusions: Clinical and radiological examinations are helpful in recognizing a periradicular lesion and the need for surgical intervention or not. After the surgical intervention is performed, through a histopathological examination, the type of injury is reconfirmed. Key words: Periodontal disease; Periapical; Periodontitis; Histology | spa |
