dc.descriptionEste estudio investiga las características socioculturales y las prácticas pedagógicas en un entorno de aprendizaje bilingüe en una escuela pública de Barranquilla, Colombia. Explora cómo la diversidad sociocultural, las estrategias de enseñanza y los factores institucionales influyen en los resultados de la educación bilingüe, proporcionando ideas prácticas para los actores implicados. A través de una metodología cualitativa de estudio de caso, se recopilaron datos mediante entrevistas semiestructuradas, observaciones en el aula y encuestas a estudiantes. Estos instrumentos permitieron una comprensión profunda de las interacciones entre estudiantes, docentes y las dinámicas curriculares, centrándose en los desafíos y oportunidades de la educación bilingüe. Los principales desafíos incluyen recursos tecnológicos limitados, tiempo de instrucción insuficiente y una falta de alineación entre las estrategias pedagógicas y las realidades socioculturales. No obstante, los hallazgos resaltan oportunidades de mejora, como fomentar la participación activa de los estudiantes, utilizar materiales de enseñanza culturalmente relevantes y mejorar los programas de formación docente para promover entornos de aprendizaje inclusivos. El estudio concluye con recomendaciones para adoptar prácticas pedagógicas culturalmente receptivas, abogar por reformas políticas e integrar evaluaciones formativas que respalden el progreso continuo del aprendizaje. dc.description.abstractThis research investigates the sociocultural characteristics and pedagogical practices in a bilingual learning environment within a public school in Barranquilla, Colombia. The study explores how sociocultural diversity, teaching strategies, and institutional factors influence bilingual education outcomes, providing practical insights for stakeholders. Using a qualitative case study methodology, data were collected through semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and student surveys. These instruments facilitated an in-depth understanding of interactions among students, teachers, and curriculum dynamics, focusing on the challenges and opportunities in bilingual education. Key challenges include limited technological resources, insufficient instructional time, and misalignment between pedagogical strategies and sociocultural realities. However, the findings highlight opportunities for improvement, such as promoting active student participation, leveraging culturally relevant teaching materials, and enhancing teacher training programs to foster inclusive learning environments. The study concludes with recommendations for adopting culturally responsive pedagogical practices, advocating for policy reforms, and integrating formative assessments to support continuous learning progress. These findings contribute to the discourse on bilingual education and its potential for addressing diversity in resource-constrained settings.spa
