Resumen
La eficacia de la irrigación depende del mecanismo de trabajo del irrigante. Objetivo: Determinar la efectividad de los insertos del sistema ultrasónico Ultra X Eighteeth® en la eliminación de la burbuja apical y la remoción de desecho dentinal. Método: Se seleccionaron 52 dientes unirradiculares humanos con formación completa del ápice. Se determinó la longitud de trabajo y se sellaron apicalmente con esmalte. Los conductos se prepararon con wave one gold secuencial, se irrigaron y tomaron radiografías periapicales para confirmar la presencia de la burbuja apical. Los dientes se distribuyeron en tres grupos (n=7). Los insertos de punta azul, plateado y dorado activados por 30 segundos. Para la eliminación del desecho dentinario, se seleccionaron 31 dientes restantes (grupo control: 10 y el experimenta: 21l), el grupo control no recibió activación, los otros grupos recibieron activación del irrigante por 30 segundos. Resultados: Los hallazgos no fueron favorables para el ultrasonido. Con el inserto azul, no se observó la remoción del barrillo dentinario en el tercio apical y en el tercio medio; con el inserto plateado, se observó la remoción del barrillo dentinario en todos los dientes en el tercio medio y con el inserto dorado la remoción en la parte apical fue de un solo diente, y en el tercio medio fue de 6 dientes. Conclusión: Ninguno de los insertos eliminó la burbuja apical durante 30 segundos, y el inserto plateado demostró ser el más efectivo en la remoción del barrillo dentinario.
Abstract
The effectiveness of irrigation depends on the working mechanism of the irrigant. Objective: determine the effectiveness of the Ultra X Eighteeth® ultrasonic system inserts in eliminating the apical bubble and removing dentinal debris. Method: A total of 52 human single-rooted teeth with complete apex formation were selected. The working length was determined and they were sealed apically with enamel. The canals were prepared with the sequential wave one gold system, irrigated, and periapical radiographs were taken to confirm the presence of the apical bubble. The teeth were decorated and distributed into three groups (n=7). The blue, silver and gold tip inserts activated for 30 seconds. For the removal of dentinal debris, 31 remaining teeth were selected (10 for the control group and 21 for the experimental group), the control group did not receive activation, the other groups received activation of the irrigant for 30 seconds. Results: The findings were not fully favorable for ultrasound. With blue insert, removal smear layer was in apical third and middle third; with silver insert, it was observed in all teeth in the middle third and with gold insert removal in the apical part was in a tooth, and in middle third it was 6 teeth. Conclusion: Neither insert removed the apical bubble for 30 seconds, nor the silver insert proved to be the most effective in removing the smear layer.
