Resumen
La legalización del cannabis para uso médico y científico en Colombia puede llegar a marcar uno de los mayores cambios en la economía del país, al ser determinado por diferentes medios como una gran potencia productora y exportadora de cannabis y sus derivados. Es por ello por lo que un gran número de emprendedores e inversores, tanto nacionales como internacionales, han considerado e iniciado actividades para hacer parte del proceso de crecimiento de esta actividad económica. Es precisamente el rápido incremento en el interés de los empresarios en este mercado el que ha llevado a que el gobierno de Colombia haya tenido que avanzar rápidamente en la estructuración de un marco legal y tributario sólido para servir como fundamento de la gestión del mercado del cannabis. Para los empresarios que desean invertir en este nicho comercial es esencial familiarizarse con todo el marco normativo y tributario que regula en su totalidad el proceso productivo del cannabis, desde la siembra de su semilla hasta la disposición final de cualquiera que sea su última forma, cuando haya atravesado un proceso de transformación, ya que permitirá a los empresarios conocer tanto los beneficios como los desafíos que deberán afrontar en este nuevo, pero prometedor sector del mercado colombiano.
Abstract
The legalization of cannabis, for medical and scientific use in Colombia, might set one of the biggest changes in the country’s economy, being determined by different media as having great productive and exporting power of cannabis and its derivatives. Therefore, an important number of entrepreneurs and investors, on a national and international scale, have considered and started activities to be a part of the growing process of this economic activity. It is precisely the businessmen’ s fast and growing interest in this market what has made the Colombian government to see themselves pressed to advance, quickly, on the structuration of a solid legal and tributary framework to work as the base of the cannabis’ market management. For the entrepreneurs that want to invest on this business niche, it is essential to familiarize themselves with the entirety of the normative and tributary framework that regulates in full, the cannabis’ productive process; starting from the sowing of its seed to its final disposition, whatever its form if and once it has gone through a transformation process, since it will allow these entrepreneurs to know both the benefits and the challenges to face in this new, yet promising segment of the Colombian market.
