| dc.description | The article aims to identify the causal configurations of the high rate of pedestrian robbery in the districts of the Metropolitan Area of the Valley of Mexico (ZMVM). Based on the theories of social disorganization and routine activities, the hypothesis is that this phenomenon occurs in contexts where conditions associated with the presence of potential offenders and criminal opportunities are combined. The methodology is based on a comparative qualitative analysis using the fuzzy set technique (fsQCA). The hypothesis is empirically tested, and shows the causal complexity of the spatial concentration of crime in terms of equifinality, although the theoretical projections showed contextual limits. | en |
| dc.description | El objetivo del artículo es identificar las configuraciones causales de la alta tasa del delito de robo a transeúntes en las demarcaciones de la Zona Metropolitana del Valle de México (ZMVM). Con base en las teorías de la desorganización social y las actividades rutinarias, la hipótesis plantea que este fenómeno se produce en contextos en donde se combinan condiciones asociadas a la presencia de ofensores potenciales y las oportunidades delictivas. La metodología se basa en un análisis cualitativo comparado en el que se emplea la técnica de los conjuntos difusos (fsQCA). La hipótesis se prueba empíricamente, y muestra la complejidad causal de la concentración espacial del delito en términos de equifinalidad, aunque las proyecciones teóricas mostraron límites contextuales. | es |
