Estigma hacia habitantes de calle, consumo de drogas y género. Consecuencias en derechos humanos y salud pública

dc.descriptionObjetivo: comprender la estigmatización hacia la población habitante de calle, su relación con el consumo de drogas, el género y sus consecuencias, desde la perspectiva del personal asistencial de Medellín. Métodos: investigación cualitativa con alcance descriptivo-interpretativo. Los datos fueron generados mediante grupos focales. La información fue analizada con técnicas de la teoría fundamentada y contrastada con la literatura científica sobre el tema. Resultados: emergieron dos concepciones sobre el habitante de calle: desechable y ciudadano. Sobre el género, se destacaron los múltiples estigmas hacia las mujeres y la población LGBTI en condición de calle, se describen las consecuencias que tiene la estigmatización. Conclusión: vivir en la calle y tener un estilo de vida contrario a los valores dominantes hace que los habitantes de calle sean discriminados, deshumanizados y corregidos por parte de la sociedad, lo cual se agrava cuando se pertenece a los géneros no hegemónicos. Esta situación limita la garantía de derechos humanos fundamentales, en especial el derecho a la salud. es
dc.descriptionObjective: comprehend the stigmatization of the homeless population, its relationship with drug use, gender and its consequences from the perspective of the assistance personnel in Medellin. Methods: qualitative research with a descriptive-interpretative scope. Data were generated through focus groups. The information was analyzed with grounded theory techniques and contrasted with the scientific literature on the subject. Results: two conceptions of the homeless person emerged: disposable and citizen. About gender, the multiple stigmas towards women and the LGBTI population living on the streets were highlighted, and the consequences of stigmatization were described. Conclusion: Living on the street and having a lifestyle contrary to the dominant values, makes homeless people to be discriminated, dehumanized and corrected by society, which is worse when belong to non-hegemonic genders, this situation limits the guarantee of fundamental human rights, especially the right to health. en
