El presente trabajo de grado tiene como objetivo dar a conocer mediante la propuesta de performatividad de Judith Butler cómo se va problematizando la categoría de género y todas las implicaciones de la lucha política del feminismo durante la mitad del siglo XX. De ahí que el enfoque radica en tres temas específicos: el lenguaje, el feminismo y la política. Ahora bien, vale la pena aclarar que, para la presente investigación solo se utilizan dos textos de la filósofa estadounidense, puesto que tiene una amplia obra, los cuales son: El género en disputa y Cuerpos aliados y lucha política: hacia una teoría performativa de la asamblea. En cuanto al primero, tuvo un gran reconocimiento mundial, y es en el que por primera vez se presenta el concepto de performatividad de género. Y, en el segundo, Butler regresa a la noción de performatividad con el movimiento de las plazas, así mismo, es un intento de disputar el significado de la palabra responsabilidad.
Este trabajo de grado consta de tres capítulos, el primer capítulo está conformado por dos apartados : “La performatividad en Judith Butler”, explora la categoría de performatividad desde su texto El género en disputa, con el fin de destacar su potencial político, y el segundo apartado, “La performatividad desde el lenguaje”, da a conocer cómo la performatividad, que está particularmente vinculada con la teoría de los actos de habla de Austin, se vincula en el lenguaje como un potencial político. El segundo capítulo ocupa las críticas de Judith Butler hacía al feminismo clásico y a la concepción de género y cómo se va desarrollando en el ámbito político. El tercer capítulo, se enfoca en las diferencias y las articulaciones que existen entre la propuesta hecha por Butler en los dos textos, centrándose en los cambios que presenta su categoría de performatividad y de coalición política.
Abstract
The aim of the present work is to show, through Judith Butler's proposal of performativity, how the category of gender and all the implications of the political struggle of feminism during the mid-twentieth century are being problematized. Hence, the focus is on three specific themes: language, feminism and politics. Now, it is worth clarifying that, for the present research only two texts of the American philosopher are used, since she has an extensive work, which are: Gender in Dispute and Allied Bodies and Political Struggle: Towards a Performative Theory of Assembly. As for the first one, it had a great worldwide recognition, and it is in which the concept of gender performativity is presented for the first time. And, in the second, Butler returns to the notion of performativity with the movement of the squares, likewise, it is an attempt to dispute the meaning of the word responsibility.
The first chapter consists of two sections: “Performativity in Judith Butler”, explores the category of performativity from her text Gender in Dispute, in order to highlight its political potential, and the second section, “Performativity from language”, shows how performativity, which is particularly linked to the theory of Austin's speech acts, is linked to language as a political potential. The second chapter deals with Judith Butler's critiques of classical feminism and the conception of gender and how it is developing in the political realm. The third chapter focuses on the differences and articulations that exist between the proposal made by Butler in the two texts, focusing on the changes presented by her category of performativity and political coalition.
