The Pauline letters contain within them some elements that allow us to establish a relative chronology of the letters by looking at characters, places and theological themes. The collection for the poor in Jerusalem has been presented as a structuring criterion, but, although important, it seems that it should be put into perspective. Pauline thought evolves in relation to themes such as the coming of Christ, the place of women, the conflict with adversaries in the communities. All this allows a first access to a chronology. To all this we must add the external chronology that complements the elements provided by Paul and allows us to approximately recognize a certain order of the Pauline letters.
