| dc.description | Most economists today have a true enthusiasm for the possibility of analyzing and constructing different economic models, others are more cautious, but all recognize the need to continue working in this field, since it is perfectly clear that the facts without theory or the theory without facts are equally useless and also that most of the basic materials of the economy - unlike the social sciences - are presented in essentially quantitative form. The topics that are discussed intend to make a brief reflection on the main theories that support the importance of using mathematical instruments in different economic analyzes, without ignoring, of course, the great importance of the qualitative method and its different approaches. The evolution of the different mathematical methods that have been used in the economy in recent times is discussed. | en |
| dc.description | La mayoría de los economistas de hoy tienen un verdadero entusiasmo por la posibilidad de analizar y construir los diferentes modelos económicos, otros son más precavidos, pero todos reconocen la necesidad de continuar trabajando en este campo, ya que está perfectamente claro que los hechos sin teoría o la teoría sin hechos son igualmente inútiles y también que la mayor parte de los materiales básicos de la economía –a diferencia de las ciencias sociales– se presentan en forma esencialmente cuantitativa. Los temas que se discuten pretenden realizar una breve reflexión sobre las principales teorías que sustentan la importancia de utilizar los instrumentos matemáticos en los diferentes análisis económicos, sin desconocer, por supuesto, la gran importancia que tienen el método cualitativo y sus diferentes aproximaciones.
