| dc.description | Este estudio investiga la influencia de los libros de texto en inglés en el proceso de aprendizaje bilingüe de los estudiantes a través de una perspectiva cultural e intercultural en Norte de Santander, Colombia. A través de métodos cualitativos que incluyeron entrevistas, encuestas y observación, se recopilaron conocimientos de profesores y estudiantes de dos escuelas de Cúcuta: el Instituto Salesiano San Juan Bosco y una institución pública llamada "GGV". Este estudio sugiere la necesidad de un mayor énfasis en los componentes culturales e interculturales en los libros de texto en inglés, con un llamado a las editoriales para incorporar más cultura local y actividades que fomenten el entendimiento intercultural. Además, los docentes desempeñan un papel crucial a la hora de cerrar las brechas culturales mediante la adopción de estrategias integrales que integran elementos lingüísticos y culturales. Este estudio aporta valiosos conocimientos y recomendaciones para educadores y formuladores de políticas que buscan crear entornos de aprendizaje inclusivos y efectivos que promuevan la conciencia cultural y el dominio del idioma. | spa |
| dc.description.abstract | This study investigates the Influence of English textbooks on students bilingual learning process through a cultural and intercultural perspective in Norte de Santander, Colombia. Through qualitative methods including interviews, surveys, and observation, insights were gathered from both teachers and students in two schools in Cúcuta—Instituto Salesiano San Juan Bosco and a public institution named "GGV." This study suggesst the need for greater emphasis on cultural and intercultural components in English textbooks, with a call for publishing houses to incorporate more local culture and activities that foster intercultural understanding. Additionally, teachers play a crucial role in bridging cultural gaps by adopting comprehensive strategies that integrate linguistic and cultural elements. This study contributes valuable insights and recommendations for educators and policymakers aiming to create inclusive and effective learning environments that promote cultural awareness and language proficiency. | spa |
