Abstract

This project addresses the reconfiguration of the José Moser Auditorium, an emblematic space loaded with history and culture, located in a prominent urban area. The proposal aims to convert this space into a place of memory and homage, acting as a transition point between the main access and the core of a colonial style block. The proposed remodeling connects the existing auditorium with new structures, including a new auditorium and a music school, thus improving the functionality of the complex and raising its profile as a cultural and educational center. From a technical standpoint, a careful restoration of the existing auditorium is planned to preserve its historical significance, while integrating elements of contemporary architecture that meet today's functional and aesthetic needs. The design encourages an architecture that responds to an interdisciplinary and sustainability-focused development approach. In addition, the project emphasizes the importance of landscape integration and the improvement of urban accessibility, with the objective that the space not only functions as a cultural center, but also as a social meeting place that strengthens the urban fabric. Sustainability is prioritized through the incorporation of energy efficient technologies and the use of local materials, reducing environmental impact and promoting the local economy. In conclusion, this proposal seeks to revitalize the José Moser Auditorium, adapting it to contemporary demands without sacrificing its historical and cultural significance, and turning it into a catalyst for the urban and cultural regeneration of the area. This approach seeks not only to recover a space of great architectural value, but also to position it as a fundamental pivot in the cultural and social dynamics of the city.
