Abstract

The activities of the human being are in favor of his survival and development, however, the effects of these activities have caused damage difficult to repair in the environment. For this reason, the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, together with other institutions and companies, both private and state-owned, have sought ways to greatly reduce the damage caused and future, among them are recognized the new policies of energy saving, the promotion of a culture of zero waste of resources and recycling (Design of a Recycling Campaign from the Source and Use of Solid Waste in the Villas de Aranjuez neighborhood of Cartagena., n.d.). The project entitled "Design of a campaign aimed at sensitizing of the Tunja Sectional Tomasina community, to encourage responsibility and awareness about the culture of recycling”” is raised with the need to find a solution for the improvement, to the problem around the inadequate classification of waste in the Santo Tomás University, Tunja Section. This project was developed with a mixed methodology, that is, with characteristics of qualitative and quantitative method, the diagnosis in general was possible thanks to the tabulation of the results of the instruments used (digital survey, observation, interviews with managers and administrators); therefore, the product of this project is to encourage the Tomasina Community through the "Ecocampus" campaign. This campaign is structured by trainings and activities, which promote the culture of recycling, with the aim of transforming the lack of culture into a recycling habit, establishing an awareness about the proper separation of usable and unusable waste, being an environmental aid within the University with benefit for all collaborators and economic for people who establish their family income with the final stage of this process.
