Una cultura radial para los jóvenes en el Distrito de Sepahua

Abstract

The Sepahua District is a place located in the Peruvian Amazon, under the jurisdiction of the Atalaya Province, in the Ucayali Region in Peru. There, a diversity of native ethnic groups coexist, establish and interact, related to each other and, in some cases, preserving their languages1 and traditions. In Sepahua services are scarce; light and water are rationed issues, difficult access to the district does not allow good communication with a world (located in the city of Lima and other capitals) that is strange when the town is mentioned among the jungle called Sepahua. The inhabitants of Sepahua are good fishermen, land workers, great merchants, and artisans. In the district, although different, the work is still as hard and exhausting as in any big city. Large merchants dominate the economy, river traffic allows a boat with a different type of merchandise to arrive each week to distribute in commercial premises.
