In the 21st century, sports journalism has undergone significant transformation due to the evolution of digital technologies and streaming platforms. These new tools have enabled greater interaction between journalists and their audiences, as well as the ability to broadcast sports events in real-time from anywhere. This study analyzes how these technological innovations have influenced sports journalism practices, comparing current dynamics with those of the 20th century. To conduct the investigative work, a qualitative research method was used, employing methodological tools such as semi-structured interviews, field immersions, and documentary information search. These tools allowed for an adequate contrast between the practices of 20th-century media and those of the 21st century. Changes and transformations in the way sports coverage is conducted were elucidated, as affirmed by some colleagues interviewed who currently practice sports journalism in renowned media outlets. These changes reflect the new dynamics that are emerging in sports journalism thanks to new platforms and the internet.

The present research analyzes, through a communicative approach, how women in the process of marriage in the parish of San Pablo in Bogotá interpret the Catholic Church's discourses on marriage. Based on the theories of power and discourse of Michel Foucault and Manuel Castells, the study examines the influence of these discourses in the construction of gender roles in the context of marriage. Using a qualitative approach involving interviews and discourse analysis, the research employs a matrix to reveal transformations in women's role perceptions, highlighting tensions between traditional teachings and women's contemporary aspirations. The findings suggest that the Church's institutional discourses act as mechanisms of power that shape perceptions of marriage and gender roles, while the women participants actively negotiate these meanings from their own experiences and socio-cultural contexts.

The findings reveal that Jaramillo’s messages address the structural and cultural challenges hindering the growth of women’s soccer, limited by economic constraints and low media visibility. Additionally, recent inquiries into Dimayor’s transparency further influence public trust in these discourses. Overall, this study seeks to enhance critical understanding of the media’s role in shaping perceptions of women's soccer, encouraging audiences to engage critically with official narratives within this domain.

Migration is an intrinsic phenomenon in human history that has grown increasingly complex in recent decades due to demographic, political, and social factors that perpetuate inequalities. In this context, contemporary migration reflects economic disparities that exacerbate the vulnerability of those who move, as seen in the massive exodus of Venezuelans. Deaf people who migrate experience an added vulnerability, as they not only face the inherent challenges of migration but also a series of tensions due to communication differences. Hearing disabilities present a variety of degrees and types that require a personalized approach to meet their needs. Barriers such as the lack of interpreters and society’s unfamiliarity with sign language hinder interaction and active participation in daily life. For Venezuelan deaf migrants, relocating to a new country introduces additional complications, such as the differences between Venezuelan Sign Language (LSV) and Colombian Sign Language (LSC), making their adaptation more challenging. This study focuses on the intersection of these realities, exploring how intercultural communication practices develop between Venezuelan deaf migrants and Colombian deaf individuals. This work seeks to contribute to a deeper understanding of the realities faced by deaf migrants.

Constantly evolving social media, Instagram has emerged as a powerful platform for shaping social perceptions and influencing individual behaviors. However, amidst the vibrant tapestry of shared experiences and self-expression, a disturbing trend has emerged: the subtle yet pervasive presence of symbolic violence against men. This often overlooked and understudied form of violence manifests itself through the dissemination of content that denigrates, defames and distorts men's roles and identities. These harmful messages, disguised as humor or social commentary, perpetuate harmful gender stereotypes and inflict psychological harm on men. To fully understand the nature and impact of this phenomenon, we must turn to the insightful work of Pierre Bourdieu, a renowned sociologist who meticulously analyzed the dynamics of power and symbolic systems. Bourdieu's concept of symbolic violence provides a crucial framework for understanding how these seemingly innocuous posts on Instagram can exert a profound influence on societal perceptions of masculinity.

Since 2016, the Santo Tomás University, specifically in the Social Communication major, has not made any type of transformation in the academic curriculum. The change in the presentation of the resume from the perspective of graduates and its adaptation to the world of work has become fundamental in the search and retention of employment in the modern era. Traditionally, resumes focused on listing candidates' work experience and formal education. However, with the evolution of the labor market, graduates are faced with the need to highlight skills beyond technical ones, such as critical thinking; Likewise, it is important to mention that some graduates are not pursuing their degree, which is why it is significant to identify problem resolution. It is essential to add that the central axis of this research is to make some suggestions for new changes to the curriculum of the Social Communication for Peace career from the needs of the world of work of the graduates of 2019-II and 2020-I in a manner updated. Where a mixed methodology will be worked, through interviews, document review and data collection, in order to obtain good results and be able to suggest what changes are good in the next curricular frameworks.

Band fanaticism was consolidated during the 1960s with the explosion of Beatlemania. Beginning with the iconic Beatles, this phenomenon evolved to form the well-known “Boy Bands” such as New Kids on the Block, followed by the emergence of global phenomena such as BTS. Historically, fanaticism has been an essential component and constant in popular culture for decades. This passionate relationship includes not only the love for music, but also a number of social, communicative, psychological and even commercial elements that deserve to be explored. Since the 1950s, social psychology has studied these interactions under the concept of parasocial relationships, in which fans develop one-way, emotional and imaginary bonds with band members. Although they rarely receive direct feedback from their idols, these fans generate unconditional affection for them. These fans may come from diverse socioeconomic, cultural and generational backgrounds, but they are united by a common passion: the music of a particular Boy Band. In Colombia, for example, since the formation of these Boy Bands, hundreds of people have faithfully followed these groups, showing a fervor comparable to that of a soccer fan for his or her team. This connection acts as a sort of invisible thread that transcends common understanding, where passions, emotions and feelings, similar to those of an interpersonal relationship, intertwine. This degree work investigates the parasocial relationships that fans maintain with artists, trying to understand the psychosocial processes involved in the formation of these bonds. In addition, it performs an ethnographic exercise to understand the dynamics of fan groups as identity communities. This way, a profile of the Boy Bands fan is constructed and the influence that these cultural products have on the construction of narrative discourses and values that individuals re-signify according to their context is reflected upon.

Sports journalism has been relevant in the coverage of disciplines such as soccer, basketball and tennis, which over the years have managed to attract a significant number of spectators worldwide. As a result of the diversification of these fields and thanks to the positioning of the digital world in the media, there have emerged sports disciplines specific to these scenarios that challenge journalistic coverage. That is why this research seeks to analyze this role within the world of e-sports, through the figures who exercise it today; the casters. To achieve this, two of the most prominent disciplines in both fields were taken as a reference: soccer and the video game Valorant. In order to compare the functions performed by journalists in each of these modalities, interviews were conducted with organizers, players, hostesses, commentators, analysts and sports journalists. In addition, information was gathered from research material dating the trajectory of the first competitions and the rise of eSports as a sport. Field work was essential for the direct collection of the data in question, focusing on points of analysis related to: the distribution of space in the events (virtual and on-site), interaction with the public, narrative styles, broadcasting channels and development of the competition. In view of the fact that e-sports converge in spaces mediated by technology, we took into account what was exposed by Carlos Scolari in his book Hipermediaciones, where digitalization, interactivity and multimedia are considered as communicative processes that establish the new media narratives.
