REVITALIZACION DE UNA INFRAESTRUCTURA INDUSTRIAL EN DESUSO

Abstract

This thesis focuses on the revitalization of disused industrial infrastructures, evaluating their potential to be transformed into multifunctional spaces that foster the development of these buildings. Based on the case study of the Antigua Cerveceria Andina in Bogotá and using the transformation of the Bankside Power Station into the Tate Modern as a reference, architectural strategies aimed at preserving the historical identity of these structures while adapting them to contemporary demands are analyzed. The research is supported by a rigorous theoretical framework enriched with insights from authors such as Gottfried Semper, Joaquín Arnau, Carlos Martí Arís, and Bernard Leupen, who offer essential concepts regarding materiality, flexibility, and the reinterpretation of industrial spaces. Through a methodology that integrates the diagnosis of the problem, the formulation of specific objectives, and the comparative analysis of references, an innovative design proposal is outlined. This proposal aims to transform industrial heritage into a catalyst for urban regeneration by implementing modern construction solutions and harmoniously integrating heritage elements with new uses for the building.
