Abstract

The work addresses the rigidity of contemporary space; in this sense, the flaw lies in the inability of places to adapt to how people are, move, and live. Far from being merely a visual problem, this rigidity has harsh real-world consequences: it creates uniform, alienating, and lifeless environments; Ultimately, the works become lifeless technical objects. The text identifies causes that help explain this phenomenon: the prioritization of time over good space, the lack of foundations that consider the subject, and the vast disconnect between idea and actual practice. The combination of these factors results in repetitive spaces, lacking meaningful connections between form, use, and perception. The thesis proposes the fluidity of space as the primary focus—a force that allows spaces to adapt to use, movement, and sensation. This helps create spaces with their own character; in short, they are in harmony with their surroundings and can provide a satisfying experience for those who use them.
