Abstract

This document presents the different activities carried out during the execution of the internship carried out in the administrative department of territorial planning of the mayor's office of Tunja for 5 months. With these activities, knowledge was applied and skills acquired during the academic training of the civil engineering program were put to the test. With the work carried out, it was possible to know the different activities managed to revise and adjust the territorial ordering plan, the collaborating entities, and the projections held to strengthen the continuous growth and constant development of the city. During this period, work was carried out mainly with the management of the ArcGIS software, among which the georeferencing, digitalization, and spatialization of the infrastructure of the different facilities, city roads, and infrastructure near the centralities for its subsequent modeling in 3D standout. With the use of the ArcCatalog tool, metadata is generated for the different datasets that were included in the geodatabase, in turn, the geographical dictionary of these is generated. With the culmination of this work, professional enrichment was achieved, strengthening abilities and acquiring new skills. In turn, the importance of generating a structured territorial development plan and the benefits it brings to a community is understood. In addition, it is possible to understand the advantages of having strategic planning and a good organization of the development of all the different activities and works carried out during a civil engineer's professional life.
