Riesgo de reincidencia en ofensores sexuales adolescentes. Estudio de casos múltiples

Abstract

The sexual criminal recidivism in teenagers has become in an interesting topic to the scientific community due to the impact on the victim, the offender freedom, and the society in general. (Monahan et al., 2009). This research deemed the risk level of recidivism in six juvenile sexual offenders (JSO) among 14 and 17 years old penalized in two centres for specialized juvenile attention (CAJE) in Boyacá and Quindío, from a study of multiple cases. To announce the empirically guided judgement, the guide ERASOR 2.0 was applied. (Worling & Curwen, 2001), based on different information sources. Five JSO with a high/moderate risk of sexual recidivism were identified. Within the risk factors identified psychosocial maladjustment, cognitive distortions, low academic performance, family atmosphere with a high level of stress, child abuse, history and proclivity to antisocial and criminal behavior were found. The protective factors were the acceptance of crime, fear of deprivation of liberty, distance of the victim and restrictions, support of the mother figure, don’t be part of gangs, recent school adaptation and organized free time activities. The findings about the recidivism and risk factors were varied and the limited number of participants did not allow to conclude about their manifestation in the JSO. The multifactorial comprehension of the sexual recidivism risk, requires the progressive implementation of this kind of evaluations in the criminal responsibility system for adolescents (CRSA), to give place to a reeducated and therapeutic treatment from a differential approach.
